STUDENTS/JOBS: Post-doc, BU/VA Boston, Language & Aging Brain

POST-DOCTORAL RESEARCH POSITION AT BOSTON UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF MEDICINE (BUSM)/ VA BOSTON HEALTHCARE SYSTEM.

Neurolinguist/psycholinguist or cognitive neuroscientist with specialinterest in language for post-doctoral level position with NIH-funded "Language in the Aging Brain" (LAB) project in the Department of Neurology at BUSM. Since 1976, we have been investigating change in various language abilities with aging. In our current research, we seek to explain changes in lexical retrieval and auditory comprehension - language domains that we know to change in healthy older adults. Our principal research question is: To what extent do health and cognitive decline account for age-related changes in language?

We are looking for a postdoctoral level person with a background in neuro/psycholinguistics, or cognitive neuroscience with special interest in language. Neuroimaging experience is preferred. The successful candidate will contribute to the scientific mission of the project and supervise the daily operations of the lab.

The LAB project maintains close collaborations with other BU, Harvard and VA research projects investigating the effects of health and aging on cognition. These projects provide numerous opportunities for collaborative research with affiliated investigators. Additional information about our project can be found at http://www.bu.edu/lab/.
