INFO: Division 20 website

Dear Colleagues,

As you already know, the Division 20 website (http:// apadiv20.phhp.ufl.edu/) is first rate... timely, credible, easy to navigate, and visually appealing. Apparently, word is getting out!

Our website has been reviewed by Thompson Scientific and is now being indexed in ISI's database. This is a significant indicator of the quality of our website -- and will further increase the visibility for our division and for the psychology of aging.

Thank you to Michael Marsiske, and to all of you--the site's many contributors--for this accomplishment.

With best regards, Liz

INFO: Three-day course, Advocating for Clinical Excellence in Palliative Care

Dear Colleagues,

Applications are now being accepted for an exciting interprofessional educational endeavor sponsored by the City of Hope called the ACE Project -- Advocating for Clinical Excellence in Palliative Care. This NCI-funded study seeks to enhance the knowledge, advocacy and leadership skills of competitively-selected psychologists, social workers and spiritual care professionals thereby improving the care of those who are seriously ill and dying.

The ACE Project premise is that more effective team functioning, collaboration, and advocacy are necessary to systemically improve the delivery of palliative, end-of-life and bereavement care. One of the overarching goals of the project is for participating professionals to act as patient and system change agents within their institutions. The 3-day course for psychologists, social workers and spiritual care professionals will offer intensive skill-building and mentorship opportunities. Substantial financial assistance will be provided to ACE attendees.

For more information and application materials, please visit the ACE Website at http://www.cityofhope.org/ACEproject or contact: Maren Spolum at (626) 256-4673 Ext. 63941 or ACEproject@coh.org
