JOBS: Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, Department of Psychology

The Department of Psychology at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville seeks applicants for two tenure-track positions at the Assistant Professor level to begin August 2013.

 

Position #1: Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Clinical or Counseling psychology, as well the ability to teach courses and conduct research within our graduate program in Clinical Adult Psychology.  Applicants must also have the interest and ability to teach several of the following undergraduate courses:  Psychopathology; Tests and Measures; Theories of Personality; Health Psychology; Physiological Psychology; Research Design and Statistics; Careers in Psychology; and Capstone Seminar in Psychology.  For applicants with ABD status, it is a requirement that the doctorate is obtained by the end of the first year of employment. Applicants will demonstrate promise for a high-quality research program and a commitment to teaching excellence and a collegial environment.  Preference will be given to candidates with high quality teaching and research experience.  Responsibilities will also include supervising student research, involving students in faculty research, advising graduate students, and providing service to the department, school, university, and community. Position #2: Applicants must have a specialization in Health Psychology with a Ph.D. in Health Psychology or a closely related field such as Clinical, Clinical-Child, Counseling, or Social Psychology. Preferred candidates will have an interest in teaching undergraduate Health Psychology and some combination of the following undergraduate courses: Careers in Psychology, Capstone Seminar in Psychology, and Research Design and Statistics.  Candidates with a Ph.D. in Clinical, Clinical-Child, or Counseling Psychology will join the faculty in one of our Clinical graduate programs and will be evaluated for their interest in teaching one or more graduate classes.  For applicants with ABD status, it is a requirement that the doctorate is obtained by the end of the first year of employment.
