FUNDING -- NIA announcements

NIA recently issued two R03 announcements soliciting applications for (1) secondary analysis of data on aging in the areas of psychology, behavioral genetics, economics, demography, or (2) archiving and dissemination of data sets.

These two announcements have two separate set-aside funds of $1,000,000 each, and separate reviews and due dates.

For RFA-AG13-004 direct cost are capped at $50K for only one year, whereas for RFA-AG13-009 direct cost are capped at $100K per year for up to two years (i.e. researchers can request up to  $200K in direct cost over two year period).

Applicants are allowed to submit multiple applications to both announcements as long as the aims are distinct.  NIH will not accept any application in response to either RFA that is essentially the same as one currently pending initial peer review unless the applicant withdraws the pending application.   For example, applicants may not submit an application for RFA-AG13-004 and resubmit the same application which is pending review by adding additional  aims to RFA-AG13-009.

If you submitted an R03 application to NIH previously and the review is complete and it  was not funded you can re-submit the application as “new“ application to either the RFA.

Please direct inquires to Dr. Partha Bhattacharyya at 3014963131 or at bhattacharyyap@mail.nih.gov Links for both announcements are provided below:
