Subject: [DIVOFFICERS] CRSPPP Petition out for Public Comment

Greetings All,

The Commission for the Recognition of Specialties and Proficiencies in Professional Psychology (CRSPPP) has five (5) petitions out for public review and comments. These petitions are for either renewal or recognition in a specialty or proficiency. The following Petitions are listed below.

·         Clinical Psychology – Specialty Renewal

·         Counseling Psychology – Specialty Renewal

·         School Psychology – Specialty Renewal

·         Clinical Child Psychology – Specialty Renewal

·         Police and Public Safety – Specialty Recognition

A period of public notice and opportunity for comment of 60 days is available beginning January 24, 2012. Comments may be submitted until April 24, 2012. All public comments are to be submitted electronically via the Education Directorate Public Comment website at http://apaoutside.apa.org/EducCSS/Public/ by the deadline. Participants may submit public comment and view other participants’ public comment at the website.

Respondents are asked to focus their comments on:

1. A statement that addresses whether the request for recognition (or continuation of such) as described in the petition be approved.

2. Any rationale for this recommendation:

a) should be based on the request for recognition as delineated in the petition and

b) any additional comments relevant to the request for recognition.

Respondents are advised that comment is sought to inform the deliberations of CRSPPP, and that while petitioners may provide CRSPPP with a written response to public comments, amended petitions are not considered.

*Please note that these petitions will also appear in the Spring Cross Cutting Agenda.

Should there be any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact our office.

Regards,
