POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSORS OF HEALTH POLICY
 
As part of its strategic plan, Oregon State University (OSU) will build on its existing strengths in the core disciplines of public health and human sciences by hiring 3-5 new faculty with expertise in Health Policy to establish a CEPH accredited College of Public Health and Human Sciences (CPHHS). These are full-time (1.00 FTE), 9-mo.tenure-track appointments for Assistant/Associate Professors of Health Policy.
QUALIFICATIONSQualifications include a doctoral degree in Human Development and Family Sciences, Psychology, Sociology, Health Policy, Public Health, Health Services Research, or a related field.  Several positions, but not all, will require graduate training in public health (i.e., either MPH or doctorate in a public health field) as well as demonstrated expertise in public health as reflected by research, teaching and/or service. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to develop and conduct an independent research program to address public health issues. A demonstrable commitment to high teaching standards is required. To view a full listing of required qualifications see the link below.  Although all areas of research will be considered, we are interested in candidates with research programs that align with the mission of our College. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in maternal/child health policy, aging policy, health outcomes, disparities in health status and access to health care, health policy research methods and analysis, state and federal health policies, public health systems policy, and health services research. We also seek candidates with research programs that focus on underserved and international populations. A demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity and ability to work collaboratively across disciplines is preferred.  Expertise and research strengths that align with the College’s developing centers and institutes (Hallie Ford Center for Healthy Children and Families, the Center for Healthy Aging Research, and/or the Institute of Public Health Practice and Applied Human Development) are preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES Responsibilities include establishing an independent research program through external funding; advancing the University’s research agenda in the area of Maternal/Child Health, Aging, Health Policy, or Health Services; assisting in the establishment of a CEPH accredited College of Public Health and Human Sciences; teaching undergraduate and graduate courses; advising graduate students; and providing service to the practice community and the field of public health.
