Rethinking Developmental Science across the Life-span/Life-course:

Theory, Methods, and Applications

The Society for the Study of Human Development invites proposal submissions for its 8th Biennial Meeting.  SSHD is an International U.S. based multidisciplinary – including developmental psychology, biology, education, sociology, economics, cultural studies, and history -- professional society dedicated to the study of issues of Developmental Science across the life-span/life-course.  The central mission of SSHD is to provide an organization that moves beyond age-segmented scholarly organizations to take an integrative, interdisciplinary approach to theories of, research on, and applications of Developmental Science across the life-span/life-course. Since the founding of SSHD in 1998, numerous books, chapters, and articles have been written advancing new theories, methods, and applications of Developmental Science.  The theme of this year's conference – Rethinking Developmental Science across the Life span/Life course -- allows us the opportunity to evaluate the past and look forward to the future in ways that will facilitate the growth of the science and the growth of the knowledge it produces.
