JOBS: Department Head Position, Virginia Tech (Department of Human Development)

The Department of Human Development at Virginia Tech seeks nominations and applications for the position of Department Head, to begin July 1, 2011. The ideal department head is a dynamic leader with the administrative skills to guide an energetic and diverse multidisciplinary department. The head will advocate for the department, foster creativity and collaboration among faculty and students, and lead department contributions to college and university initiatives. Current initiatives include a commitment to interdisciplinary scholarship and the strategic growth of graduate programs and funded research. Minimum qualifications include an earned doctorate and experience in the human development-family studies field. The candidate should have a record of successful teaching, scholarly productivity, recognized engagement, extramural funding and grants management, and professional service in higher education commensurate with appointment as a tenured Professor at Virginia Tech.
