Former Division 20 President Jack Botwinick died in St. Louis, MO February 12, 2006 after a brief illness. As a returning veteran of World War II, he received his BA and MA from Brooklyn College and his PhD from New York University in 1953. He was a research scientist in the laboratory on aging at the National Institute of Mental Health and a faculty member in the Gerontology Center at Duke University before joining the faculty of Washington University in St. Louis in 1968 as Professor of Psychology and Neurology and Director of the Aging and Development Program in the Department of Psychology where he remained until his retirement in 1988.
