ANNOUNCING THE NEW Beth Meyer-Arnold Dissertation Fellowship
The National Adult Day Services Association (NADSA) announces the new Beth Meyer-Arnold Dissertation Fellowship, which is designed to encourage original, doctoral-level scholarship in the area of adult day services. The award supports PhD Candidates in completing dissertation work in areas of interest to adult day services providers and consumers. Successful award applicants will have approved dissertation proposals that examine issues that impact the quality of life of participants and their family caregivers. In addition, applicants are encouraged to address one or more of the Institute of Medicine's six domains of health care quality as they can be related to adult day services (i.e., through providing safe, effective, person-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care). At this time, priority will be given to those applicants who examine issues of effectiveness and efficiency as they relate to adult day services.
Successful applicants will receive mentoring and support from members of the NADSA Research Committee and will be expected to present their research at the annual NADSA conference. Additionally, fellows and their advisors will be featured on the NADSA website. Up to three awards of $5000 each will be provided on an annual basis. Successful recipients will receive $4000 upon selection and $1000 after NADSA receives a pdf version of the dissertation.
Application materials:
1) Cover letter summarizing your interest in the award and how the objectives of the fellowship match your proposed study.
2) Summary of your dissertation proposal that should not exceed 12 pages. Please include the study purpose, literature review, significance, design and methods and a proposed timeline.
3) Curriculum Vitae.
4) Two letters of recommendation. One letter of recommendation must be from your dissertation advisor in which he/she should confirm that your dissertation proposal has been approved.
