THERE’S STILL TIME!! APPLY FOR THE FORWARD FOCUS WORKSHOP: STRATEGIC PLANNING FOR THE NIH COMMON FUND
The Division of Program Coordination, Planning, and Strategic Initiatives (DPCPSI) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) is hosting public meetings in Chicago, IL and San Francisco, CA, as part of the strategic planning process for the NIH Common Fund. The meetings are intended to gather input from the broad community on the biggest obstacles to progress in biomedical research or the greatest opportunities in biomedical science that are ripe for exploration. Input gathered from this meeting will help inform potential new program ideas for the NIH Common Fund.
The public meetings will take place in two locations:
- May 1, 2012 Chicago, IL
- May 3, 2012 San Francisco, CA
These meetings are open to all members of the public, but space is limited. A brief application is required to attend. Applications will be accepted March 16th – April 6th. The NIH Common Fund supports goal-driven, research networks in which investigators generate data, solve technological problems, and/or otherwise pilot resources and tools that will be stimulatory to the broader research community. Common Fund programs are designed to achieve their goals within a maximum of 10 years. More information about the programs currently supported by the Common Fund can be found at www.commonfund.nih.gov.
