INFO: Outing Age 2002, Elder Justice Act

The National Gay and Lesbian Task Force and SAGE (Services and Advocacy for GLBT Elders) today jointly released Outing Age 2010: Public Policy Issues Affecting Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Elders, an update to the groundbreaking Outing Age report issued in 2000. Like its predecessor, Outing Age 2010 presents an in-depth look at public policy issues and challenges facing millions of aging LGBT people in the United States.  www.sageusa.org

 

Also, update on Elder Justice Act:  support is broad for the Elder Justice Act, which is linked to healthcare reform measures, http://www.latimes.com/features/health/la-he-elder-abuse23-2009nov23,0,2818119.story.  APA has been a long-time supporter of this legislation. Dr. Diane Elmore, of the APA Public Interest Government Relations Office, represents APA on the Elder Justice Coalition that has worked for the passage of the Act.
