THE DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHIATRY and HEALTH BEHAVIOR at the MERCER SCHOOL OF MEDICINE and GEORGIA NEUROSURGICAL INSTITUTE invites immediate applications for a postdoctoral level position. This appointment will begin in the area of Geropsychology with an emphasis on neuropsychology. This position will involve geriatric/neuropsychological work on several grants and clinical/research/teaching experience at the Mercer School of Medicine and its clinics, as well as GNI. Responsibilities specifically include: clinical work in a neurosurgery clinic, outpatient psychiatry clinic, family medicine, and long-term care. Research is on-going in all these areas, involving pain, cognitive decline, depression, cognitive rehabilitation, and work at a new neurodegenerative clinic. This is truly an interdisciplinary position with several medical disciplines. Required Qualifications involve: (1) an earned doctorate (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Clinical or Counseling Psychology; (2) a license or license-eligibility in Georgia; (3) interest in and some experience in the assessment and care of older adults; (4) demonstrated potential for establishing a strong, productive research program; and (5) team player. Salary is set at the NIMH level for Year I postdoctoral fellows.
